The company joined our city’s pro football team this weekend to raise thousands of dollars for their Autism Awareness Challenge, a 5K run and bike to benefit local research.
Things kicked off Friday night with a big bash at the stadium that included refreshments, fireworks, live music, and special appearances. Saturday morning, as a soaking rain settled in, our CEO and dozens of colleagues joined players, alumni, coaches, cheerleaders and thousands of fans as they set off.
Our participants raised a total of $##,### in donations and sponsorships, providing meaningful support for a critical issue that affects innumerable families.
“So many went out of their way to help a very worthy cause,” said the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). “I was very proud of the support and the togetherness that we showed. That meant a lot to this community and we’re grateful for the chance to help.”
The rain didn’t even dampen the mood—participants enthusiastically met many team stars and made memories that will last all year, towards a pot of donations that totaled over $1 million. Those funds are going to a coalition of local autism research partners who bring fresh thinking and additional resources to the field.
Aside from all of the fun, taking part is more about exercising the philanthropic spirit that cornerstones our values. “We’re looking forward to doing this again as often as we are able,” said the CMO. “We loved this experience in giving back to our community and we’d like for everyone to have the same opportunity.”
